Since the foundation of the IDDRG in 1958 until 2002, IDDRG organized a Biennial Congress in every second year, which was open to all. This was a conventional open meeting, with wide publicity – call for papers, refereeing, poster sessions, technical visits, ladies’ programme.
In 2003, the organisation of IDDRG was restructured. Since then, instead of Biennial Congresses and Working Group Meetings an Annual Conference is organised. This is reflected in the name of the events, too: the Biennial Congresses were numbered from the 1st Biennial Congress held in Paris in 1960 until the 22nd Biennial Congress held in Nagoya in 2002. The new Annual Conferences started in Bled in 2003 are denoted as IDDRG’2003, IDDRG’2004, etc.
